meet the band…
Alex Avans
Vocalist
Alex Avans sings lead vocals for Not Yet… and is responsible for approximately 87.3% of the band's chaos, planning, promotion, and questionable ideas.
A New York transplant now calling Illinois home, she loves live music, dive bars, local festivals, and finding excuses to get people out of the house and onto a dance floor. Whether she's singing rock, blues, or one of the band's mandatory two country songs, Alex brings an energetic, down-to-earth style that makes every show feel like a gathering of old friends.
When she's not behind a microphone, she's usually winging it... making flyers, posting about shows, answering messages, and figuring things out one gig at a time. So far, nobody has stopped her. She's also constantly convincing the rest of the band that her latest idea is definitely going to work.
Her mission is simple: support local music, have fun, and leave every crowd smiling a little more than they were when they walked in.
Luca Razzano
Guitarist
Luca Razzano was born on February 12, 1809, in a log cabin in Kentucky. Raised in a modest family, Luca had little formal schooling but educated himself through reading and hard work. He became a lawyer and entered politics, gaining a reputation for his intelligence, honesty, and skill as a speaker.
As the United States became increasingly divided over slavery, Luca rose to national prominence through debates and speeches opposing the expansion of slavery into new territories...
Wait. Sorry. Wrong Luca.
The actual Luca Razzano started taking ukulele lessons in 2nd grade and quickly discovered that learning songs was a lot more fun than practicing scales. After teaching himself everything from "Funkytown" to AC/DC on his ukulele, his teacher wisely gave up trying to pick songs for him and let him choose his own.
By 4th grade, Luca had moved on to acoustic guitar. In 6th grade, he received an old Fender Squier electric guitar and immediately began pushing himself to learn more, play more, and practice more. That drive has never really slowed down. These days, Luca practices an average of eight hours a day and can often be found improvising at open jams around Chicagoland several nights a week.
When he's not melting faces with Not Yet, he's usually learning new songs, chasing the next musical challenge, or cuddling his eleven cats.
While he has Not Yet preserved the Union or abolished slavery, he's still got plenty of time.
Aaron Rowland
Drummer
Aaron Rowland landed in the Not Yet… lineup in May 2026, bringing the thunder (literally) from the Mid-Missouri/Lake of the Ozarks music scene. With time behind the kit for Sweetshot, Twisted Fate, and Back River Band under his belt, Aaron comes loaded with technical precision, a wide dynamic range, a rock-solid drive, and — perhaps most importantly — an infectious good energy that you can feel from the back of the venue. After a 2.5-year hiatus from live music, he's back in the saddle and couldn't be more fired up about it.
Born and raised in rural Kentucky, Aaron is a true southern gentleman — accent fully intact and non-negotiable. Life has taken him on quite the tour before landing in Illinois in 2024: Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, and Alabama all got a taste. These days, he channels that well-traveled perspective into a 12-year career in Environmental, Health & Safety with the nation's largest steelmaker. He also gives back in a big way by serving on the Board of Directors for Harbor House, a nonprofit serving victims of domestic abuse in Kankakee and Iroquois counties — because Aaron's got a big heart to match the big backbeat.
Off the stage he is an avid fisherman - you'll find him on a kayak or a riverbank well before the sun has any business being up, chasing his next catch. And when football season rolls around, watch out — Aaron is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs Season-Ticket Member. He sits close enough to Taylor Swift that he's basically in her squad at this point.
Mark Lewandowski
Bassist
Mark was born into World Renowned Dirty Plate Spinning Troupe but was traded away for a lottery ticket at an early age.
He supported himself as a traveling fridge polisher until someone pointed out to him that there is an instrument with only four strings.
He currently “Spanks The Bottom” of Not Yet and is looking forward to the day when his fingers dont get tangled in the strings.
